Overview

The dataset contains detailed information on new passenger registrations by fuel type (BEV, PHEV, HEV, NGV, petrol, diesel, others) and by market. Data is available for the EU (individual member states, EU12, EU14 and aggregated), Iceland, Norway, Switzerland and the United Kingdom, for the fourth quarter (Q4) of 2022 and compares the numbers with 2021. The dataset also contains registrations for Q1-Q4 2021 and 2022.

Datasets presented in the report include:

  • Battery electric vehicles (BEV) - EU + EFTA + UK
    - Includes fuel cell electric vehicles (FCEV)

  • Plug-in hybrid electric vehicles (PHEV) - EU + EFTA + UK
    - Includes extended-range electric vehicle (EREV)

  • Hybrid electric vehicles (HEV) - EU + EFTA + UK
    - Includes full and mild hybrids

  • Natural gas vehicles (NGV) - EU + EFTA + UK

  • Other alternatively-powered vehicles - EU + EFTA + UK

    - Includes LPG, ethanol (E85) and other fuels

  • Petrol - EU + EFTA + UK
