Emission Reduction (Actual and Potential) by Electric Vehicles for Delhi for 2021

The dataset contains an estimation of the greenhouse gas (GhG) emission reduction from EV sales in Delhi, and also of the GHG reduction potential from the major proportion of ICE vehicles in Delhi for the year 2021.

Updated Wed May 14 2025

Overview

The dataset includes:

  1. A model of the GhG emission reduction by the EV market share for all the newly registered vehicles in Delhi in 2021.

  1. A model of the potential GhG emission reduction for the scenario, where the market share of  the internal combustion engine (ICE) vehicle segment, for the newly registered vehicles in Delhi in 2021, is converted to EV.

  1. A model of the GhG emission reduction from public and private charging stations (CS) installation in Delhi, based on the Delhi EV Policy implementation targets at the time of calculation.

The models were created by collecting and analyzing the electric vehicles registration data from Delhi in 2021 as well as the ICE vehicle registration data in 2021. Only the data for 2W, 3W and 4W has been considered. The study uses the bottoms up approach of the ASIF method for the modelling.

Description

The dataset contains an estimation of the greenhouse gas (GhG) emission reduction from EV sales in Delhi, and also of the GHG reduction potential from the major proportion of ICE vehicles in Delhi for the year 2021.
